Monica Bonvicini : Don’t Miss A Sec {Public Toilet with One-Way Mirrors}
British artist Monica Bonvicini installed an amazing public piece in London called “Don’t Miss A Sec.” The installation is basically a public toilet with one-way mirrors, that may have some people a little gun-shy if they actually go in to use the toilet. However, the artist explains that there is a deeper message than just taking a dump in public, “It relates to the urge, during big art events where so much is about “see and be seen,” to not miss anything.” From what I can tell, the piece was installed back in 2004.
