Seriously though, Slab City is located on land that is actually owned by the State of California’s Teachers Union. This desert land is inhabited by some crazy people. Vice shot this video to show their way of life and their lawlessness.
This bizarre, lawless land in the California desert is inhabited by drug addicts, eccentrics, army vets, hippies and just plain old weirdos. Slab City is referred to by its residents as “the last free place in America.”
