Chan Hwee Chong – Spiral Illustrations
Take a look at the spiral illustration of Vinny Van Gogh above. Do you think it was hand drawn or computer/printer generated? When I first saw these pieces, which were commissioned by art material maker Faber-Castell to show off their pens, I immediately thought, “Oh damn, these computer generated spiral illustrations are sick.” Then, I watched the video below, featuring artist Chan Hwee Chong HAND DRAWING the Girl With A Pearl Earring, and my next thought was, “Shut the hell up!?” I’m extremely impressed!
