The Accidental Sea – Short Film

This video is somewhat topical due to last weekend’s “end of the world” nonsense predicted by William Camping.  Since the rapture obviously didn’t take place, Mr. Camping has decided to push the apocalypse back to this fall.

Anyway, author/filmmaker Ransom Riggs posted this short film on YouTube earlier this month, and it is worth your time.  In his words, it is “A short film about my favorite post-apocalyptic hell-hole, the Salton Sea.”  For a short time the “sea” was exploited as a tourist attraction before it became too polluted and it now sits decaying and deserted.

It is an interesting look at what the world would/could look like if Mr. Camping is ever indeed correct on his prediction(s).

From Ransom Riggs:

Also, to those considering a visit to the Salton Sea, be warned that it can get up to 110-120 degrees, you’ll be far from a garage should you break down, and it can smell pretty awful. Late fall and early spring are much better times to go!

Sounds amazing, who’s down for a road trip?!  We can stay with the weirdo dude at the end, maybe?
